Metalworking

Metal is extremely durable, but also extremely complex.  It can be forged, rolled, bent, extruded, welded, or cast.  It has a grain structure which can be aligned like strands of gluten in dough, creating different material properties.  I'm fascinated by the science behind it and with the right protection from oxidation, our metal creations will outlive our lifetimes.
